Why LabMax exists
Most laboratories run on one revenue model and rarely stop to check whether their day to day decisions are actually profitable. Staffing levels, equipment purchases, vendor contracts, send out tests. The data to answer those questions usually exists somewhere. It's just scattered across an LIS, a billing system, and a spreadsheet nobody updates anymore. LabMax takes the most common version of those questions and turns them into simple, free calculators you can use in under a minute.
What we believe
You don't need perfect numbers to make a good decision. LabMax calculators are built for speed and clarity, not audit grade precision. Plug in a reasonable estimate, get an answer, and use it to start a better conversation with your team, your vendor, or your finance department.
What LabMax is not
LabMax is not a replacement for a CPA, a financial advisor, or a formal cost accounting system. The calculators are rule of thumb tools meant to help lab managers and owners think through their operations quickly. For decisions with real financial or regulatory weight, check with a qualified professional first.
Who built this
LabMax was built by someone with a background in laboratory operations and diagnostics sales who got tired of watching good lab decisions get made on gut feel instead of available data. It's an independent project. It is not affiliated with any instrument manufacturer, reference lab, or distributor.
What's next
New calculators are being added over time, including more advanced tools for payer mix, referral profitability, and full test level financial dashboards. The calculators on this site today will stay free.
